The typical scenario requiring the iTerpret service is in an emergency situation where a deaf patient requires access to an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter or a non-English speaking patient requiring basic oral interpretation. A more advanced scenario would be a deaf patient who only understands Russian sign language but needs to communicate with a physician in English. iTerpret makes this almost impossible task as simple as a few mouse clicks. Staff members need only choose the patients language (sign and/or oral) and the physician’s language. Within a few short minutes, the iTerpret server connects to a qualified on-call interpreter and critical information is exchanged so that proper patient care can be administered.
